Construction
„Star-delta” starters consist of three SA contactors, one thermal relay and one time relay. The overcorrect thermal relay is equipped with a differential gear with manual resetting; it is connected in the motor supply circuit directly to the winding terminals and set to 58 % of the rating plate current value (Ie:v3), protecting the motor circuit against the operation with incomplete phases. The time relay enables setting the start-up time in „star” configuration and the time of pause between switching from „star” to „delta” configuration. Starters mounted in enclosure are equipped with pushbuttons enabling local control and light signaling of their operational state. Starters of BGTSA and GTSA type fulfill the requirements of PN-EN 60947-4-1 standard.
Application
„Star-delta” starters of GTSA type (mounted on steel plate) and of B GTSA (in steel enclosure) with the protection degree IP55 are intended for asynchronous electric motors with squirrelcage rotors of rating working voltage range up to 690 VAC / 50 Hz. Switching the motor windings from „star” configuration at the beginning of the start-up to „delta’ configuration is realized automatically after the starter receives the impulse from the time relay with the adjustable duration of the start-up and adjustable time of delay between switching from „star” to ’delta”. The start-up duration and the time of delay between switching from „star” to ’delta” are set by the user and they depend on type of the motor load and the local network conditions.
