In-House Laboratory – A Few Words About Quality
The ZAE ERGOM in-house laboratory conducts testing of copper and aluminium cable lugs and connectors for compliance with the PN-EN 61238-1 standard. The laboratory is recognised by the Institute of Power Engineering in Warsaw as a testing provider for cyclic heating tests, resistance measurements and mechanical testing in accordance with PN-EN 61238-1.

Our equipment includes:
- Current test rigs for cyclic heating tests, with a rated current of up to 1,350 A AC
- Multichannel temperature data loggers
- A low-resistance meter
- A thermal imaging camera for recording temperature distribution patterns
- A tensile testing machine for static tensile tests

We also have a high-voltage test station with a rated voltage of 60 kV for electrical withstand testing of:
- Tools for the safe cutting of cables
- 1,000 V tools for live working
- Insulating gloves, insulating overshoes and insulating mats

Within the scope of its recognised testing activities, the laboratory performs:
- Cyclic heating tests on copper and aluminium cable lugs and connectors crimped onto power cables using dedicated tools. The cables have a rated voltage not exceeding 36 kV and a cross-sectional area of up to 300 mm².
- Connection resistance measurements for copper and aluminium cable lugs and connectors
- Tensile strength tests on cable lugs and connectors with a nominal cross-sectional area of up to 300 mm²
We also carry out:
- Thermal imaging to identify areas of elevated temperature
- Electrical insulation withstand tests
- Cable anchorage, impact resistance and ingress protection tests for cable glands
- Electrical withstand and surface adhesion tests on electrical insulating tapes
- Mechanical impact resistance tests on steel enclosures in accordance with the IK rating system

Thanks to our well-equipped laboratory, we can help ensure that our products meet the required quality standards before reaching the demanding markets of Western Europe and the increasingly quality-conscious Polish market.
