Flat-oval long connectors with a spacer for overhead line conductors, AFL type ZLAFD – guaranteed connection quality.

Overhead power lines are often damaged (broken off) due to adverse weather conditions such as storms or strong winds. These failures result in power outages that negatively impact:

1. Daily life, depriving us of access to heat, sometimes water, light, and the ability to use electrical appliances.
2. The economy, as a result of which work in factories and other enterprises is suspended.
3. The quality of the power grid – sudden, widespread, and prolonged failures of transmission lines destabilize the electricity grid, which negatively affects power parameters for consumers and may lead to additional failures.

Therefore, repairing such power lines should be carried out professionally and as quickly as possible. To achieve this, reliable and certified products should be used (compliant with PN-EN 61284:2002). Such high standards are met by the aluminum mechanically loadable connectors, ZLAFD type.

ZLAFD connectors are used for:

  • Connecting aluminum-steel conductors of the AFL-6 type with cross-sections ranging from 25mm² to 70mm².
  • Closing loops on insulators or tension clamps.

The dimensions of ZLAFD connectors have been designed based on the BN-86/0325-29 standard. The ends are shaped to facilitate easy wire insertion.

The body of the ZLAFD connectors is marked to simplify installation:

  • AFL conductor type and its cross-section
  • Crimping die type
  • Crimping points
  • Manufacturer's name and connector type.

At the beginning of 2024, our ZLAFD connectors passed tests for compliance with the PN-EN 61284:2002 standard conducted by the Quality Research Office (BBJ) and obtained a certificate of compliance with PN-EN 61284:2002:

  • Class A, mechanically loadable connector
  • Short-circuit test for Class A connections in accordance with section 13.5.3.1
